The 11th International Congress of the Croatian Society of Mechanics (11th ICCSM) will take place from September 30 to October 3, 2025 at the Hotel Olympia in Vodice. Vodice is a small town in the center of the east coast of the Adriatic Sea and a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches. The first traces of the village date back to Roman times, when it was mainly a trading center. Traditionally, the locals cultivate olives and wine, while today tourism is the most developed economic activity.
Vodice is located very near the larger town of Šibenik. Šibenik is not only the administrative and economic center of the region, but is also located in the middle of a beautiful natural and historical environment. The bay in which the town is located is the mouth of the river Krka, a well-known karst river. Šibenik has a beautiful old town center with two UNESCO protected monuments. The first is the Cathedral of St. James, the other is the Fortress of St. Nicholas, one of the city's four fortresses. Šibenik will be visited during the congress excursion.
The Hotel Olympia is categorized with four stars and is adjacent to the beach. All rooms are double rooms and have a balcony with a view of the sea or the park. The hotel’s restaurants, bars and wellness facilities offer a variety of options. The conference takes place in a newly renovated room in a Mediterranean inspiring environment, equipped with the latest audiovisual equipment. The hotel is only 23 km by car from Krka National Park, while boat trips to Kornati National Park depart from Vodice. The nearest international airports are in Split and Zadar.
